Conditions for admission to a social services facility
The conditions for the admission of a citizen to a social service facility are regulated by Act of the National People's Republic of Slovakia No. 448/2008 Coll. on social services and on amendments to Act no. 455/1991 Coll. on trades (Trades Act) as amended (hereinafter the Act on Social Services).
According to the above-mentioned law, in general, a higher territorial unit within the scope of its competence ensures the availability of social services for citizens who are dependent on social services and also ensures the right to choose social services under the conditions established by this law. Therefore, if a citizen is interested in the provision of social services in the facility, it is necessary for him to submit a written request to conclude a contract. This application is submitted to a higher territorial unit.
The Giraltovce social services center provides social services according to:
§ 34 In a supported housing facility
Residential social services are provided in a supported housing facility to individuals from the age of 16 until they reach retirement age, if this individual is subject to supervision. If a natural person reaches retirement age during the provision of social service in a supported housing facility, this social service continues to be provided to him.
In a supported housing facility, in addition to supervision:
a) provides
- accommodation,
- social counseling,
- assistance in exercising rights and legally protected interests,
b) create the conditions for
- food preparation,
- cleaning,
- washing, ironing and maintenance of linen and clothing,
c) performs social rehabilitation.
§ 38 In the home of social services
In the social services center, social services are provided in residential form (year-round and weekly) or outpatient social services to individuals up to retirement age, if this individual is:
a) dependent on the help of another natural person and her degree of dependency is at least IV, or
b) blind or practically blind and her dependency level is at least II.
In the home of social services:
a) provides
- help when dependent on the help of another natural person,
- social counseling,
- social rehabilitation,
- accommodation,
- eating,
- cleaning, washing, ironing and maintenance of linen and clothing,
- personal equipment,
b) ensures
- development of work skills,
- help with job application,
- interest activity,
c) create conditions for
- education,
- safekeeping of valuables.
§ 54 Respite service
Relief social service is provided to a natural person who cares for a person with a severe disability, and its purpose is to provide social service for a person with a severe disability during the period when the caregiver cannot provide care. The aim of the service is to enable the caregiver to have the necessary rest, to support his physical and mental health and to prevent his overload.
The social service is provided at the Home of Social Services Giraltovce, Kukorelliho 335/17, 087 01 Giraltovce.
The capacity of the service is 2 recipients, of which 1 place for year-round and 1 place for weekly stay, if the facility has an available bed.
The application for the provision of relief service is submitted at the relevant city or municipal office according to the applicant's place of permanent residence. After approval, a contract for the provision of relief service is concluded.
