Services

The Giraltovce Social Services Center is a budget organization within the scope of establishment of the Prešov self-governing region. We provide social services in accordance with Act No. 448/2008 Coll. on social services as amended.

Social services are provided in residential form (year-round and weekly) and outpatient form for a certain/indefinite time.

Types of social services provided

In our facility, we provide the following types of social services:

§ 34 – Supported housing facility (ZPB)

Form of residence, year-round, for a certain/indefinite time.

Target group

natural persons from the age of 16 until the retirement age,
persons dependent on supervision.

§ 38 – Home of social services (DSS)

Form of stay (year-round and weekly) and outpatient, for a certain/indefinite time.

Target group

natural persons up to retirement age,
persons dependent on the help of another natural person,
blind or practically blind persons.

§ 54 – Respite service (OdS)

Form of stay (year-round, weekly), for a maximum of 30 days in a calendar year.

Target group

a natural person dependent on assistance in self-care activities, who is being cared for by family members or another person, and who needs to provide care during the time when this person cannot provide care.

The target group mainly includes:

seniors with reduced mobility or health limitations,
persons with disabilities dependent on assistance with daily activities,
persons with mental illness requiring supervision and support.

At the same time, the service indirectly supports family caregivers by enabling them to rest, regenerate or take care of personal matters.

Professional activities

social counseling,
assistance in referring a natural person to the help of another natural person,
assistance in exercising rights and legally protected interests,
social rehabilitation,
nursing care,
development of work skills,
assistance in the exercise of guardianship rights and obligations,
preventive activities,
help with job application.

Service activities

accommodation,
eating,
cleaning,
washing, ironing and maintenance of linen and clothing,
material fulfillment associated with the provision of ambulatory social services in common areas.

Other activities

creation of conditions for food preparation, food delivery,
performing necessary basic personal hygiene,
creating conditions for safekeeping of valuables,
provision of personal equipment,
necessary clothing and footwear,
transportation,
securing an interest activity.

Additional services

external hairdresser,
pedicure,
transportation of recipients of social services (transportation to medical examinations, offices or other private purposes).

Nursing care

Basic nursing care is focused on hygienic actions, positioning, wound dressings, administration of medicines and other drugs according to the doctor's indication, provision of medicines and medical aids, measurement of physiological functions and monitoring of the overall health and psychological state of recipients of social services. The transfer of the recipient to the medical facility is carried out accompanied by the nurse on duty. Transport to the medical facility is provided by the transport medical service or, depending on the need and severity, the transport is provided by a CSS official motor vehicle.

Nursing care

Nursing care is aimed at supporting the recipient's self-sufficiency, helping with self-care and ensuring his safety, dignity and comfort. The content is daily support for personal hygiene, eating, mobility, positioning and care for the recipient's environment. At the same time, nursing care strengthens social integration, motivates the recipient to be active and cooperates with the professional team in monitoring his health and functional status.
