The present

A few words to start...

Dear Friends,

The Center for Social Services Giraltovce (CSS Giraltovce) is a budget organization, established by the Prešov Self-Governing Region (PSK). PSK guarantees and supervises the activities of CSS Giraltovce and takes necessary measures in case of identified shortcomings. The financial results are connected to the budget of PSK. CSS Giraltovce operates independently according to the approved budget, acquires rights and obligations on its behalf, and can accept financial and material donations for its activities.

The CSS Giraltovce consists of 4 pavilions of the Social Services Center (CSS) in Giraltovce, one pavilion in Hanušovce nad Topľou, which houses CSS and Supported Housing Facilities (ZPB).

Part of CSS Giraltovce, both in Giraltovce and Hanušovce nad Topľou, includes extensive courtyards and gardens providing space for various sports and leisure activities. Outdoor areas also feature zones for social gatherings, pavilions for relaxation, and benches. A new addition in Giraltovce is an amphitheater, and there is also a gym equipped with relevant facilities.

In the future, we plan further innovations and renovations in CSS in Giraltovce. What exactly we have in mind, we will not reveal for now. Our new plans are currently veiled in a cloak of secrecy. We believe that we will meet your expectations, and these gradually evolving changes will not only delight your eyes but also warm the hearts of all visitors.

WE ARE HERE FOR OUR RECIPIENTS

CSS Giraltovce provides social services to citizens to address unfavorable situations due to their severe health disability, unfavorable health condition, or reaching retirement age according to §§ 38 and 34 on social services.

According to § 38 of Act No. 448/2008 Coll., on social services, we provide a social service to a person who is dependent on the assistance of another person, and whose degree of dependency is at least Grade V according to Annex No. 3 or to a person who is blind or practically blind, and whose degree of dependency is at least Grade III according to Annex No. 3. It involves assistance with dependency on another person, social counseling, social rehabilitation, nursing care, accommodation, meals, cleaning, laundry, ironing, and laundry and clothing maintenance, personal equipment, pocket money, and material donations according to a special regulation for a child under institutional care receiving year-round residential service. We also provide work therapy, activities focused on hobbies, and create conditions for education in the facility.

Under § 34 of Act No. 448/2008 Coll., on social services, we provide social services in a supported housing facility to a person from the age of 16 until reaching retirement age if that person is dependent on the assistance of another person according to Annex No. 3 and under supervision, under which they are capable of leading an independent life. If a person reaches retirement age while receiving social services in a supported housing facility, this social service continues to be provided. Supervision for the purpose of providing social services in our supported housing facility consists of directing and monitoring the person in performing self-care tasks, household tasks within the facility, and basic social activities according to Annex No. 4. In the supported housing facility, we also provide accommodation, social counseling, and assistance with asserting rights and legally protected interests. We create conditions for meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, ironing, and laundry and clothing maintenance. Social rehabilitation is also carried out.

CSS GIRALTOVCE IS INTENDED FOR THOSE WHO RELY ON THE HELP OF OTHERS

The Center for Social Services Giraltovce is a combined facility, namely:

a) CSS, where social services are provided to a child and CSS, where social services are provided to an adult, so the age composition is diverse. We offer social services in it to recipients from birth without age limitation in residential (year-round and weekly) and outpatient forms. They are citizens with health disabilities such as physical disabilities, mental disorders and behavioral disorders, or sensory impairments, or in combination. The average length of their stay in the facility is 13 years. In terms of mobility, we provide social services to immobile, severely mobile, and mobile recipients. We have recipients who are fully legally incompetent, recipients with limited legal capacity, and recipients capable of legal acts. In terms of the classification of mental disability, we have recipients with mild mental disability, with moderately severe mental disability, with severe mental disability, and with profound mental disability in the CSS. We do not record recipients with other mental disabilities and unspecified mental disabilities. Each of them is exceptional and welcome to us.

b) ZPB, where social services focused on supporting people with severe health disabilities, mainly with intellectual disabilities, are provided. Activities and tasks are aimed at accompanying the client on their journey towards independence so that they can handle the problems of everyday life and achieve their individual goals as much as possible.

WE CREATE THE WARMTH OF HOME AND THE FEELING OF SECURITY

The goal of the staff is to develop the personality of their recipients daily in line with their physical and intellectual abilities, to provide them with a harmonious home in adequate conditions of everyday life, where their individuality, independence, and personal dignity are respected. Based on our experience in this work, we are convinced that each recipient has their own pace of progress and limits that are never entirely clear. Only the further development of the recipient will indicate whether the right time has come to adopt new knowledge, skills, and habits and to what extent.

Let's not forget that our recipients are not alone. CSS Giraltovce is a HOME for them, where they have a FAMILY. They have us - friends, colleagues, acquaintances, and supporters. Let's always be there for each other, because only together can we improve things. So let's move forward with enthusiasm. Together, let's make a better and more beautiful world. Because strength lies in unity...

"We are all angels with one wing... To fly, we must embrace each other." (Luciano De Crescenzo)
